Indigenous plants and their
uses
As part of a cooperative research project with the Northern
Territory Conservation Commission and Service Fellowship
International (Australia), the Kupang Bible and Trade School
is constructing a database of indigenous plants and their uses
to the people of NTT (Nusa Tenggara Timur, Eastern Indonesia).
The purpose of the database is to record local knowledge and
to identify plants that could improve the farm strategies,
health and welfare of local subsistence farmers. The database
project serves the School's aims of training students in
sustainable farming options, and of directing research towards
community development schemes.
If you have any references on useful native plants in Nusa
Tenggara Timur, please contact:

Nepal Plant Pathology Resources
The purpose of this database is to capture all the now widely
scattered information on plant pathology in Nepal (e.g. on
disease incidence, yield loss, disease management,
bibliography). The aim is to assess research achievements to
date, and to determine an agenda for future research. The
bibliographical database is complete but other aspects of the
project are in progress. It is the intention eventually to
expand the database to become the Nepal Plant Protection
Resources Database by including information on entomology,
weed science and indigenous knowledge on plant protection in
Nepal.
