Collaboration in research and activities related to indigenous knowledge
Steps are being taken to establish a counterpart programme at the University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Nigeria, which would provide a framework for collaboration with other centres. The initiator is Dr G.B. Ayoola, acting director of the Centre for Food and Agricultural Strategy (CEFAS) and acting head of the university's Agricultural Economics Department. The programme will be focused on indigenous knowledge related to the management of farms and infrastructure. Activities coordinated by the centre and the department will include research, resource development, the recruitment of funds, documentation, and the organization of workshops for policy-makers.
