Eva van der Zand
Eva van der Zand is a student in International Relations at the University of Groningen. In her study she focused on international politics, international trade relations and international law. She wrote her thesis on hydro-politics, hydro-hegemony and global justice related to the situation of the Aral Sea in Central Asia. Two years ago she went to Jordan to do a journalism internship and learned about water cooperation and the conflicting interests in this area. Besides this, she did a business minor at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and gained knowledge about the food industry, which is mainly dependent on water.
The ‘water diet’ implies the challenge to make people aware that, in order to solve water issues, it is necessary to create a habit of sustainable food consumption.
