Jasper van Dooren
Jasper van Dooren is a PhD candidate at Kent Law School (University of Kent, United Kingdom). His research is concerned with the EU’s regulation and supervision of capital markets, focusing on the impact of such regulation and supervision on democratic decision making and its role in the reproduction of state power and governance. Jasper holds postgraduate degrees in international relations (Amsterdam), global political economy (Sussex), and international corporate governance and financial regulation (Warwick).
Critiquing the Capital Markets Union plan is invaluable, but only effective as part of a larger critique on the historical, anti-democratic form of European integration.
