Jose Itzigsohn is Professor at the department of Sociology, Brown University, USA. He is the author of 'Developing Poverty: The State, Labor Market Deregulation, and the Informal Economy in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic' (Penn State University Press, 2000) and 'Encountering American Faultlines: Class, Race, and the Dominican Experience' (Russell Sage Press, 2009).
