Rosario Léon
Rosario Léon is a rural sociologist and director of Centro de Estudios de la Realidad Economica y Social (CERES), an economic and social policy research institute in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She has always been interested in the workings of power. She was in the vanguard of participatory approaches that sprang from local action to making global connections including working for the FAO Forests, Trees and Peoples programme. Since 2001 she has been lead consultant for a program in Bolivia that seeks to enable excluded citizens to realize their right to identity.
We increasingly found ourselves caught between the everyday realities of working in the local communities, and the incongruous bureaucracy of annual operating plans along with the dictates of remote donor organizations.
