Sarah Dalrymple
Sarah Dalrymple is Senior Policy & Engagement Advisor at Development Initiatives (DI). In that role she leads DI’s policy analysis and engagement on both humanitarian assistance and conflict, peace and security. Previously Sarah worked at Saferworld, an international peacebuilding NGO, as a Policy and Advocacy Advisor on conflict prevention, security, justice, conflict-sensitive development, and gender issues. Prior to that Sarah also worked at other NGOs, including International Alert and Oxfam; operated as an independent consultant on conflict and security; and worked on policy and strategy to address organised crime (e.g. human trafficking and child exploitation) as a source of insecurity and instability for the UK Government’s Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).
An effective response to a global health crisis of this nature – which straddles the priorities of humanitarian, development and peacebuilding actors – demands a joined-up or ‘nexus’ response.
