Sarah Wolff

Dr Sarah Wolff is Senior Lecturer In Public Policy at the School of Politics and International Relations of Queen Mary University of London. She is also the Director of the Center of European Research. She has experience as Senior Research Associate Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for International Relations. She has extensive research, teaching and consultancy experience in EU public policies, Justice and Home Affairs (JHA), migration and border management policies, as well as EU-Arab Mediterranean relations. Her research interests include EU politics and policy-making, non-majoritarian agencies, Justice and Home Affairs policy (migration and border management policies), as well as EU external relations and EU development aid.

Migration and Refugee Crisis in the Mediterranean - What role for International Organizations?

The EU migration and refugee crisis has acutely revealed the limits of the Schengen and Dublin systems as well as national reticence to build a European migration and asylum policy. If Europe is not up to the task, can international organizations (IOs), often those that are critical of European states for their inaction, impulse change? What influence do IOs have on EU and Mediterranean migration and refugee policies?
