Zuzana Brixiova
Zuzana Brixiova is Advisor to the Chief Economist and Vice President at the African Development Bank. Previously, she was with the UNDP in Swaziland, where she advised the government on economic policies and led a UN study on youth entrepreneurship. Prior to this, Zuzana worked in the Research Department of the AfDB, in the OECD, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the Addis Ababa University. At the IMF, she worked on developing and emerging market countries in Africa, Europe, and Central Asia, including as Resident Representative in Belarus and Lithuania. Zuzana holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
Young people represent more than 60% of Africa’s population. Entrepreneurship, if supported through the right policies, can provide an effective solution to persistent youth unemployment.
