Dr. Clara Brandi is a senior researcher at the German Development Institute (Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik, DIE). An economist and political scientist, she works on global governance questions and international trade with a special view on the role of developing countries and rising powers. Dr. Brandi’s areas of interest and expertise also include sustainable development and international normative theory. In addition to her position at the German Development Institute, she also currently works as a researcher for the German Advisory Council on Global Change (Wissenschaftlicher Beirat für Global Umweltveränderungen, WBGU). Dr. Brandi earned a PhD from the European University Institute; an MA in economics from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität (she was given the Hayek Award for her thesis); and an MPhil in politics from the University of Oxford (where she was a Michael-Wills-Scholar).
