Evelijne Bruning obtained her Master’s diploma in Development Sociology and Medical Anthropology at Leiden University. After that, she worked as an advisor for the development organization, SNV, first on entrepreneurship in Vietnam and then as a communication advisor in The Hague.She continued her career on a freelance basis for eight years as a chairperson, journalist and chief editor of the professional journals Vice Versa and Capacity.org.Evelijne leads discussions, sector meetings and consultation rounds for various organizations. She is also co-founder of The Broker, an advisor to UNDP, a board member of the Scherpenzeel Stichting and columnist in the international development magazine IS. For the past four years, Evelijne has been the director of The Hunger Project. In her spare time, she is a board member of International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI) and a member of the advisory boards of Wilde Wijze Vrouw and the Society for International Development (SID).
