Ellen Lammers is a researcher and writer based in Amsterdam. She received her doctorate in anthropology from the University of Amsterdam. Her PhD thesis (cum laude) is based on several years of field research in Uganda and deals with young men’s experiences of war and displacement. Ellen is a former graduate (medical anthropology, distinction) of the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Ellen has published on forced migration and war, the ethics and politics of research, and a wide range of development and environmental issues.
In addition to her work for The Broker, she is partner of the research bureau WiW - Global Research Reporting.
