Reinout Meijnen is web editor at The Broker. He studied Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology at Leiden University, with a special interest in the intersections of informal markets and NGOs, as well as politics and religion of the Middle East. He spent in all about eight months in Egypt for research and work.
Reinout started with The Broker in 2010 as an editorial assistant. He helped redevelop the Broker website in 2011 and is currently involved in planning and coordinating the development of a new website on food security for the Food and Business Knowledge Platform. This is one of the by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated knowledge platforms, executed jointly by Agri-ProFocus, Wageningen University and The Broker. Previously, Reinout coordinated the academic blogs Leiden Antropology Blog and Leiden Psychology Blog.
Apart from this he is working on a voluntary basis to establish an editorial team for the website Antropologen.nl, aiming to develop it into a fully functional platform serving anthropologists in the Netherlands.
