Food & Business Knowledge Platform

Supporting the co-creation of better policies and practices on food and nutrition security is the main objective of the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP), and its successor the Knowledge Programme for Food Security. Since 2013, the F&BKP has pursued these goals by facilitating the exchange and use of academic, applied and tacit knowledge between scholars, practitioners and policymakers. The Broker implements this programme together with AgriProFocus and the Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (CDI).

The website of the Food & Business Knowledge Platform has been launched. In the Platform, an open and independent initiative, representatives from international networks and organizations of businesses, science, civil society and policy come together.

From local to global: prioritizing food security – Conclusion and Recommendations

To feed the world’s growing population in a sustainable and inclusive way with good quality food is one of the main tasks for our time. The solution lies partly at the local level: the livelihoods, and the cultural, socioeconomic, and environmental circumstances in which food is produced, processed and distributed. But how can or should global actors be involved? The outcomes of the debate on food security, published by The Broker, can help to find the answers to these questions, with recommendations for a new research agenda on food security.
