Murat Arsel is Associate Professor of Environment and Development at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research focuses on development theory, nature-society relations within global capitalism and extractive industries. He is currently conducting field research in Latin America (especially Bolivia and Ecuador) and Turkey.
