Andrew McKillop is an energy economist and consultant who edited a book for Pluto Books, title 'The Final Energy Crisis' including articles by Colin Campbell and Edward R.D. Goldsmith. He has held posts in national, international and supranational (Euro Commission) energy, and energy policy divisions and agencies.
Given the increase of income inequality over the past decades, legitimizing the global market on the basis of the proliferation of free trade is questionable. Reducing wage inequality would however challenge the very foundations of free trade theory.

Perhaps the largest, most ramifying but also highest level problem of the inability to change to an inclusive, sustainable economy, is the Global Economy. Why this is a problem generator, not solver, is obvious: it is in permanent unstable equilibrium due to needing permanent growth of output, predominantly based on the throughput of depletable and depleting natural resources.
