Daniel Mügge is a political economist and associate professor (UHD) at the political science department of the UvA. In his research, he analyses the political economy of macroeconomic indicators and the political origins of the formulas through which we calculate them. This work is supported by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the European Research Council (ERC). Daniel also leads the workpackage "Banking Crisis and Financial Sustainability" in the Horizon2020 ENLIGHTEN project, headquartered at Copenhagen Business School. In the past, he has published widely on the politics of financial regulation and accounting standards. Daniel Mügge is currently lead-editor of the Review of International Political Economy and (infrequently) comments on current economic affairs through his Twitter account. He also writes a monthly column for Follow The Money.
