Emmy Bergsma
Emmy Bergsma is a junior researcher in the environmental policy analysis department of the Institute for Environmental Studies, VU University Amsterdam. Previously, she studied human geography at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, focusing on environmental issues. Her main research subject was justice in relation to climate change.
Extreme weather events, partly caused by climate change, are already wreaking havoc, especially in the South. Both floods and droughts are expected to become more frequent and more severe. But who will pay for the measures needed to respond to the impacts of climate change?
