Harry C. Boyte

Harry C. Boyte (USA) is Director of the Center for Democracy and Citizenship at Augsburg College and a Senior Fellow at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. In partnership with communities and civic groups in hundreds of sites in the US and internationally, the Center develops theory about civic agency and civic learning through participatory action research. Harry is also co-chair of the Civic Engagement Group of Barack Obama’s US presidential campaign, and the author of The Citizen Solution; How You Can Make a Difference, in which he gives practical advice for building up a ‘citizens movement’. He also edited and wrote the introduction and concluding essay for The Good Society, Vol. 21 No 2 (2012).
