Paul Lange
Paul Lange is project-assistant at the Conflict Research Unit (CRU) of the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’. His work focuses on job creation and socio-economic development in fragile and conflict-affected environments. Paul graduated from Utrecht University with a Master Degree in International Development Studies. He also holds a Bachelor in History and a Master in International Relations (cum laude), both from Utrecht University.
Support to SMEs in fragile and conflict-affected states has become a priority for the international development community. Yet thorough analysis of the broader institutional context in which these SMEs operate is needed to explain inequalities in the wider enabling environment and to make these interventions successful.
