Stephen Haggard
Stephen Haggard is an independent freelance specialist in digital technologies for education and development. He lives in London and most of his work is strategic consultancy with US and UK digital education giants such as The Open University or the Desire2Learn Brightspace learning platform. His passion is his portfolio of sub-Saharan digital projects, ranging from Senegal to Tanzania and Lusaka to Ouagadougou. These are also a family affair and Stephen was recently proud to put his two children, 7 and 9, in the village school in a Wolof-speaking farming community for a fortnight while he worked on a rural teacher professional development project.
Consider the Accra, Ghana based company DreamOval. Five years back, in the classic genesis of many African SMEs, founder Derrydean Dadzie won a single contract: deliver an NGO-funded health support program.
