Jaap Dijkstra is the Treasurer of Stichting IDP | The Broker and presently treasurer at Humanitas, senior policy advisor at Hivos, member of the board of Eurostep, member of the supervisory board at Zorgbelang Zuid Holland, and member of the supervisory board at the University of Humanistic Studies in Utrecht.

Jaap is a former General Director of Hivos and Deputy Director and policy officer for Western Africa at SNV. He started his career as an SNV policy advisor at the West Cameroon Credit Union League. In addition, he was chairman of the Dutch MDG-Platform / EEN, the Alliance 2015 and the Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO). Jaap received his MA in Economic Sociology in 1970.
