Michelle Djekić has been a project editor at The Broker, focusing on areas related to the theme of human security. Ongoing projects include the development of the Knowledge Platform on Security and the Rule of Law – initiated by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs – in collaboration with The Hague Institute for Global Justice. Michelle has a political science background with a Bachelor’s degree in Modern European Studies from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a Master’s degree (EUROMASTERS with transatlantic track) in Contemporary European Studies, Politics, Policy and Society from the University of Bath, UK. The EUROMASTERS provided her with a broader comparative understanding of European and EU-US politics, policy and social evolution. Previously, Michelle worked as a policy officer/researcher at the Dutch Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, conducting trade and policy-related research in the field of human rights, interreligious dialogue and sustainable development. She also worked as a project and communications assistant (intern) at Global Human Rights Defence in The Hague.
