Food security and stability

Conflict, instability and food insecurity are recognized as interconnected problems that are increasingly affected by climate change. Effective solutions require a nexus approach that integrates conflict sensitivity into agricultural development and bridges humanitarian and development programming. The Broker has produced a series of reports to assist the learning of a community of practice on these topics in close cooperation with the Food & Business Knowledge Platform, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and various other organizations engaged in international development. These reports included a focus on conflict sensitivity in agricultural programming, indicators to monitor the intersection of food security and stability, experiences with adaptive management approaches in fragile settings, and experiences with the development of food systems and market systems in the humanitarian-development nexus.
