Nancy Okail is a foreign aid evaluation consultant. She had recently obtained her DPhil degree in
development studies from the Institute of Development Studies which explored power relations
in the field of foreign aid. Her work is mainly focused on aid effectiveness and approaches to
participatory monitoring and evaluation. She has worked with several governmental bodies
and donor organisations on the impact evaluation of development projects in various areas
including: rural development, microcredit schemes, gender equality and empowerment of poor
and marginalised groups with particular interest in the analysis of power relation and the use of
reflective practices to promote change.
