Klemens van de Sand

Dr. Klemens van de Sand, a consultant for German Watch, started his professional career as a staff member of the Konrad-Adenauer- Foundation in Indonesia. He has worked with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), for almost 30 years, holding positions such as commissioner for human rights , head of the Department for Development Policy, Research, Evaluation and Donor Coordination and commissioner for Asia. In addition, he was chairman of the OECD-DAC Working Group on Participatory Development and Good Governance, and Assistant President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome, Italy.
