Gina Bergh

Gina specializes in the post-2015 sustainable development agenda and topical issues within this, including inequality, governance and accountability, education and engaging multiple actors. Her current research focuses on the process towards agreeing future development goals, and on providing evidence and commentary in these areas of interest. She also has substantial research experience in child- and gender-sensitive development and aid effectiveness. Prior to joining ODI Gina was a consultant on projects for a range of development agencies such as UNICEF; UNDP; the OECD; Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; UNESCO and Save the Children International. She previously worked with the Department for International Development on UK social policy and EU development policy, where she played a role in establishing emergency funds for social protection following the financial crisis. Her early research background includes work with a range of South African academic and non-governmental organisations.
