Otto Hospes
Otto Hospes (1963) is an associate professor at the Law and Governance Group of the Department of Social Sciences, Wageningen University and Research Centre, the Netherlands. From 2002 to 2007 he was seconded to the Policy and Operation Evaluation Department (IOB) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this capacity he led impact evaluations in the field of international trade and influence on economic policies in relation to sustainable soy production, sugar dumping, coffee certification and WTO law. At Wageningen University he concentrates on research, monitoring and evaluation in the fields of sustainable soy production, biofuels, food security, land and human rights. He is focused on public and private regulation of flows of food, feed and biofuel, and the social and economic effects of such regulation. He has visited, conducted evaluations and done research in many countries, including Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya and Brazil.
